I made it through the holidays!! Whew!! I am happy to say that even with all the sugary, rich foods I have managed to make it through without any major IBD issues. That may not sound like much; but let me tell you, IT IS!!!! I've continued to eat a lot of NuPlus like I talked about in my last post, and I have also been consuming a lot of Spirulina and a lot of Vitadolphilus (probiotics). Those three things have been key items in my diet that have helped tremendously. I am so thankful for how good I have felt!!
Now here we are at the end of another year. Everyone is making plans for New Years Eve and making out thier list of resolutions for 2019. I'll be honest I am not real big on resolutions. I seem to make the same ones every year, and I can't really say I always follow through. I am an all or nothing kind of person, so quiet honestly resolutions are stressful. I would almost rather not make them at all than make them and not accomplish them. Maybe my resolution should be to conquer this all or nothing mentality. LOL! I may have to think about that more. It might be a great idea, and I am sure Toby would appreciate it. He knows my struggles with this thinking.
I read a blog post the other day I thought was really good. You can find it here, creativemindfullife.com. The post was New Year, Improved Mindset. She talked about reflecting on what she had accomplished and how she had grown in the past year and then looked at ways to grow and develop in the new year. I won't give away anymore. I hope you read it for yourself, and I hope you find it as encouraging and helpful as I did.
So, even though I have not sat down and written specific "resolutions", I have had goals and dreams for 2019 on my mind. Toby and I had about a 2 hour road trip the other day to go pick up our older two girls from camp, so we took that opportunity to talk about our plans for 2019. We aren't expert goal setters by any means, but we have learned that it does help give us a clear vision of what we want and from there we can start making a plan. You should try it yourself if you haven't already! Also, think about this past year's accomplishments and how far you have come. It might be just the encouragement and motivation you need for getting started with your goals for the new year.
I am looking forward to 2019 and what it brings. I have a new journey starting with my mom that I will tell you about later, but even with that I have plans and hopes to make 2019 the best I can.
*****************************Happy New Year!!!*********************************
